Leading Hand & Underground Shift Electricians

Redpath are currently seeking experienced Underground Electricians and Electrical Leading Hands to join our operations in Norseman, WA.

About the Roles

• Leading Hand Electrician

In this role, you will support underground mining operations by coordinating day-to-day electrical activities, leading your crew, and delivering safe, efficient and well-organised maintenance and project work across site.

• Underground Shift Electrician

You will play a key role in maintaining safe and reliable electrical systems underground. This includes fault finding, routine inspections, supporting apprentices and trades assistants, and providing clear shift updates.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, efficient and high-quality completion of all tasks
• Perform electrical installations and maintenance to project requirements
• Conduct inspections, fault testing and compliance checks
• Maintain safety, quality and statutory standards at all times
• Supervise and mentor tradespeople, apprentices and trade assistants
• Prepare clear and accurate shift reports
• Participate in pre-starts, toolbox talks and safety meetings
• Carry out equipment pre-start checks
• Follow all site procedures and client requirements

About You

• Extensive underground mining electrical experience
• Current WA Electrical Licence
• Low Voltage Switchboard Rescue (LV Rescue)
• First Aid & CPR certification
• Working at Heights qualification
• Experience with troubleshooting and mine electrical systems
• High voltage experience (desirable)
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Ability to plan, prioritise and work both independently and in a team
• Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
